ABOUT ME

Hey there, I’m Jeanne! I’m so glad you’re here.

Becoming a therapist was never part of my original plan. I was set to join the Marine Corps after college, having been accepted into Officer Candidate School and fully prepared to go. But during my senior year spring track season, a stress fracture in my femoral neck ended my athletic career, left me barely able to walk, and forced me to put everything on hold. My June departure date came and went, and with no “Plan B,” I found myself in one of the most challenging and disorienting times of my life.

Who Are You When Everything Changes?

Losing my ability to compete forced me to confront a question I hadn’t expected:

Who am I beyond being an athlete?

I’ve been competing my whole life, running cross country and track for UConn and racing as an All-American triathlete. Those experiences shaped not only my identity but also my resilience and focus. Facing the end of my athletic career showed me just how much work it takes to redefine yourself after a loss.

Over the next year and a half, I drifted through jobs that left me feeling unfulfilled and uncertain. Then, I lost my high school best friend to an accidental overdose after his long struggle with substance use and mental health challenges. That loss changed everything. It made me pause, reflect, and ask myself what I truly wanted to do with my life. I realized I wanted to help people like my friend and to make my work count for something meaningful.

I left my desk job to become a behavior therapist, and that path introduced me to the world of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I applied to graduate school, earned my degree and licensure, and six years later, I’m grateful for the therapist I’ve become.

My journey is a daily reminder that life’s detours often guide us toward who we’re meant to be, even when the way forward feels uncertain.

A space for your soul, your story, your healing.

I created Therapeutic Balance Counseling Services as a supportive space for teens, adults, and athletes to explore that same sense of direction and inner steadiness. A place to reconnect with yourself, build self-trust, and strengthen the tools you need to move through life with clarity and purpose.

Here, therapy isn’t just about coping or getting through a tough moment; it’s about cultivating calm, resilience, and balance from within. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to walk it alone. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
